Scioto Canoe and Kayak Race

FreeThe event will feature numerous 6-mile marathon canoe and kayak races. The marathon event will be held on O’Shaughnessy Reservoir.

Note: If you don’t see your “race class” above come and bring your boat anyway. We’ll tailor a class and distance to match your skills.
RACES: The marathon 6-mile course will be available at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center north of Columbus Zoo entrance.
CANOE RACE REGISTRATION: Day of Race Only. Registration will be at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center.
DIRECTIONS: O’Shaughnessy Boating Center is located northwest of Columbus, Ohio off State Route 257 (Riverside Drive). Take I-270 to State Route 161 and US 33. Go east through the city of Dublin to SR 257 (about a mile). Go north past Scioto Park (west side of the road). The Boating Center is reached by continuing north on US 33 from Scioto Park. At the dam, continue north toward the zoo. Boating Center is on left opposite the zoo area. There will be signs.
ENTRY FEES: NONE: USCA Marathon 6 mile Events – Free
AWARDS: Ceremony to be held at approximately 3:00 p.m. at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center after the completion of all races.
RACE RULES: United States Canoe Association Rules will prevail. These rules, as detailed in the USCA’s Competitors Handbook, will be available at the race site.
RACE COURSE: 6-mile events will be 2 laps on O’Shaughnessy Reservoir.
